The shooting for the third phase of the new cinematic flick ‘Takhti, the World Champion’ has kicked off.
Capturing the scenes of the movie directed by Bahram Tavakkoli, is going on after Amir Jadidi, the main star of the film left the project.
Reports say that an actor named Mohsen Takhti has been replaced Jadidi to play the role of Iranian world wrestling champion Qolam-Reza Takhti.
A number of ifilm stars including Atila Pesyani, Mahour Alvand, Hamid-Reza Azarang, Banipal Shoomoon, Parivash Nazariyeh and Behnoush Tabatabaee have already joined the cast of the film.
Gholamreza Takhti was born in Tehran on August 27, 1930. At the age of 15, he enrolled in Poulad club in southern Tehran and was trained to become a wrestler.
Takhti won his first Iranian championship in 1950 and later in 1951 he won a silver medal at the world freestyle championship in Helsinki. That was the first international medal ever gained by an Iranian wrestler.
He won several other medals but that is not the only reason why he is so famous and popular. He proved to be a real hero by showing such exemplary character as to being of any sort of help to the poor and needy.
